A bright summer’s day welcomed us at our team offsite at etc.venues in Monument, London. When we walked in the venue we were directed to our conference room where a lovely selection of breakfast options was waiting for us. The greedy person that I am took a Greek yoghurt and berry compote, peach smoothie, 2 mini pastries and a couple of slices of baguettes with cold cuts. There were gluten free cereal options on offer as well but I had no space left to try them out. I had to remind myself that I needed to concentrate on our team meeting.
For lunch, there was salmon nicoise with lemon and tarragon dressing, beef chimichurri with slow baked tomatoes and flap cap mushrooms, potato gnocchi with basil mascarpone sauce, buttered greens and cajun wedges. There were also cold salad dishes available. As I was still a little full from breakfast I restricted myself to the salmon nicoise, buttered greens and cajun wedges. The salmon dish was a little oily but otherwise moist and tender.
For dessert, I had the petite vanilla panna cotta with chocolate covered strawberries with crushed pistachios which was heavenly followed by the fresh fruit platter. As I was about to burst I had to sadly leave the cheese board with crackers and chutney alone.
In the afternoon, etc.venues offered a small selection of mini pastries including scones with jam and cream. I was still unable to move from lunch so I had to skip these treats unfortunately.
If you ever need a venue for meetings, conferences or training etc.venues is good value and the food offered is recommended! Compliments to the chef at the Monument branch.
