To celebrate my brother’s visit to London, we booked the Bleeding Heart restaurant which offers French inspired fine dining. This restaurant has been around for at least 20 years and is hidden in the midst of Hatton Gardens near Chancery Lane. The last time I was here was about 15 years ago.
Upon arrival we could see the wood panel surroundings and white table linens creating a warm elegant atmosphere reminiscent of Edwardian times. Then you look up at the ceiling and see the quirky heart shape lighting supporting the restaurant name!
Before we decided what food to order, we were offered a glass of champagne.
We decided on the 2 course summer set menu with 2 of us ordering the starter and main and the other half ordering main and dessert.
The waiter served us a beautifully presented complimentary petite croquette to start.
Our main meal followed with a deliciously seared fillet of sea trout with heritage tomato Maldon sea salt and balsamic dressing.
The men enjoyed their pot roasted Guinea fowl with baby gem lettuce and peas.
Dessert was a selection of French farm house cheeses, celery and grapes. Although it was not as elegantly presented compared to the other dishes, there was nothing left but a few crumbs.
We thought we had finished our meal when we were offered these little savouries and then chocolates with berries.
This venue is perfect for romantic dates, small groups and business lunches.
Book now to take advantage of this incredibly good value summer set menu before it ends!
